got into Mindo at nightfall...it's very dark at night

in the morning we walked almost 2 hours down a dirt road in the sun. then the questionable terabitia to get to the path to the waterfall..

from there it was about an hour of treacherous trekking

finally reached the reina..it's kind of a 2-parter

the slippery stairs carved out of a tree trunk go alongside the first half then when you get to the top you see this

we then changed into bathing suits and waded in. quite refreshing and vale la pena, we decided

late lunch, well-earned

it rains a lot in Mindo

so we took naps--rather they took naps, i watched the rain

margot and laney were there too so we taught pops and ben how to play cuarenta at a table outside their hostal by the river. then we slept for a few hours.
